Crews used a trench cut to help halt the spread of fire through structures. With the trench cut in place, firefighters were able to bring the fire under control.
The fire caused damage to multiple buildings along the block including West Portal Cleaners, Fuji Japanese Restaurant, and a US Post Office.
Close to one-hundred firefighters were called to battle the fire that took fire crews around one hour to bring under control.
